Some species of frankincense are sharp, some are medicinal and some poor quality distillations can smell like lemon floor polish. Frankincense is an essence that can be challenging to work with in natural fragrances, but worth it for the wonderful effect it has on incense forward scents and citrus compositions.  This beautiful lemon forward frankincense is the best we've sourced, and possesses no sharp turpentine-like notes. Clean but rich, with a smooth lemon pepper incense aroma . . . as soon as we sniffed this beautiful boswellia neglecta frankincense we knew this was THE frankincense we had dreamed of. We are now frankincense fans.
