EARTH DAY NATURAL PERFUME CLASS
This Introductory perfume class focuses on creating oil based perfumes and solid perfumes utilizing organic oils and exotic butters and waxes. Oil based perfumes are rapidly increasing in popularity and many prefer the long lasting moisturizing fragrance perfume oils provide. Formulating perfumes using oil as a carrier presents it's own unique challenges and attendees will learn the proper ratios of top, middle, and base notes necessary for creating balanced perfume oils. Topics will include carrier oils, formulation, scent classification, essence dilution, reputable suppliers for sourcing ingredients and packaging, botanical materials unsuitable for oil perfume formulation, storage, and aging of perfumes and essences. Students will create two oil based perfumes and at least three solid perfumes to take home.
We will also learn how to create solid perfumes using floral waxes and butters. Solid Perfumes have remained popular for centuries. Portable, moisturizing, discreet and fragrant these perfumed balms gently scent the skin while providing hydration. The wax and oil base allows these balms to wear close to the skin but last for hours. Excellent as gifts and easy to make, solid perfumes are the perfect introduction to the art of natural perfumery.
We will be making our own solid perfume balms using a bevy of beautiful natural ingredients. We will discuss the properties attached to each essence. Attendees will learn how to formulate their own solid perfumes utilizing pure floral waxes such as jasmine and rose, butters, beeswax and oils and will leave with at least four completed solid perfumes of their own creation.
