Creating Oriental Perfumes, October 28-29 Weekend Session 2017

Oriental perfumes are the cornerstone of the perfume industry and the most popular style of fragrances. Natural essences lend themselves perfectly to creating rich sophisticated oriental perfumes, and these exotic resins and spices were the basis of all original orientals. In this weekend long class we will learn how to create beautiful natural oriental perfumes redolent of amber, citrus, flowers and spice.
Session #1 runs on Saturday October 28th from 10:30 am-5:00 pm with a short lunch break. Session #2 runs on Sunday October 29th from 10:30 am -2:00 pm. This two day class will cover:
-distinguishing characteristics of materials i.e. the scent profile of benzoin absolute vrs. benzoin essential oil.
Attendees will focus on four distinct styles of oriental perfumes: the CLASSIC oriental fragrance composition, the FLORAL ORIENTAL or "FLORIENTAL" fragrance composition, the GOURMAND/AMBERY Oriental and the SPICY Oriental composition. This class is heavily focused on actual perfume blending and is hands-on with access to a wide variety of exotic perfumery materials.
Session 1 runs on Saturday October 28th from 10:30 am-5:00 pm with a mid day lunch break. Students will create their own versions of a CLASSIC and FLORIENTAL styles of perfumes to take home and will receive an individual fragrance consultation and evaluation.
Session 2 runs on Sunday October 29th from 10:30 am-2:00 pm.
Session 2 attendees will focus on two distinct styles of oriental perfumes: the SPICY oriental fragrance composition and the GOURMAND/AMBERY fragrance composition. Students will create their own versions of both styles of oriental perfumes to take home.
